Renaissance Garden Daylilies
![]() | JUST A LITTLE BLUE DOR 23” re M (sdlg x sdlg) No, not a small blue, it’s a 4 ¼” rose pink diploid with an almost blue eye. With form and proportions and the good luck of being planted close to the corner of its bed, it has been seen and admired by many a garden visitor who invariably asks when I planned to introduce it. All of that caused me to keep it one more year, a case of pure greed. The flower has cream- colored sepals with pink edges and pink petals with lighter well ruffled petal edges and produces 34 buds per scape. You’ll like this one...Diploid SOLD OUT |
![]() | KICK OUT THE JAMS SEV 28” EM (Finger Panting x Do The Twist) What we have here is a serious Unusual Form with some serious colors and color pattern. From the first time this flower bloomed, I was in love. The rich color of the segments combine with the complimentary color of the big throat to produce an interestingly colored grayed eye zone with dry brushed boundaries. The green throat is icing on the cake. Its petals reliably pinch and the sepals dependably curl. There are all kinds of possibilities that come from the traits of this cultivar that result in kids that range from good to really good...Tetraploid SOLD OUT |
![]() | PLEAT MY PETALS SEV 30” MLa [(Zanzabar Illusion x (Grand Marnier x t Bologongo)] x (t Bologongo x sdlg)] That converted Bologongo ain’t no spring chicken any more, but sure has been an extremely delightful parent of fine progeny anyway. Given to producing pleated petals, crossing half sibs accentuated the pleats. If that weren’t enough, here, the bright yellow veins are slightly raised. The 5 ½” flowers are russet orange with a large bright yellow throat blending to spring green with light mid ribs and blended light edges. The fine form is blessed with generously wide segments...Tetraploid $125.00 |
![]() | ROSES AND LOLLIPOPS SEV 21” EM {sdlg x [(Gingerbread x Godiva Jam)] x sdlg} This pretty raspberry rose has a Montepulciano D’Abruzzo ’05 colored eye and inner edge, and outer edge of pale yellow which is horny……or, that is, I mean that the protrusions aren’t teeth because teeth are straight rather that slightly curled as are these, as in horns, don’t you know. Moving right along, the throat is gold blending to green. From reverse bi-tone parents, this 5” flower is only very slightly bi-tone, but these genes show up now and then in its kids accompanied by exemplary plant habits…Tetraploid $75.00 |
![]() | SUCCINCT PINK SEV 30 MLa (Magacian’s Mask x All Day Reign x sdlg) This 4” foundling has been through more adventures that Pauline, that gal that kept finding herself tied to the railroad tracks. It is just as accomplished a survivor including being tilled and then abandoned in a small seedling patch. When it did reemerge I just didn’t weed it since it wasn’t hurting anything. Not only did it prove its resilience, it’s pretty, has fine plant habits and reblooms. The sepals are cream blending to pink at the edges. The petals are pink with a wide cream mid rib. The bright green throat finishes off a near perfect flower…Diploid $60.00 |
![]() | WHEELER DEALER DOR 32” M [(unk x sdlg) x unk] The parentage of this spider is better known by me than it appears. I have been working on the skinny ones for some time so in an effort to develop distinct flowers, I have been relying on my own lines for breeding. Unknowns are sure to be from my kids, I just don’t know which, thanks to some untowardness committed upon its tag. On the other hand, seedling parents are known but in my notes are listed only as numbers for several generations before I come to a name and I don’t think that record would make very fascinating reading, but if you think you have to know some particular genealogy, I can do that. This is my first real spider…..just. It is 9” and its cherry colored eye has just a touch of lavender. Bob’s reaction to my claim to that lavender is, “Yeah, sure,” but then he’s a guy. He can’t dispute the fact that it is a fairly rare true dormant spider and a good one at that…Tetraploid $100.00 |
